Scan­dal­gate per­son­nel are on high alert fol­low­ing news that gui­tarist Tom was recently injured dur­ing a heroic alter­ca­tion with a truck. Not only was his motor­bike munted but his leg was badly crushed after a dar­ing escape from the wheels of death. He is cur­rently resid­ing in RPA Hos­pi­tal and mong­ing out on the sweet, sweet buzz of self-induced painkillers.

We’re still gath­er­ing infor­ma­tion on what hap­pened although we sus­pect it went something like this:

We wish Tom a quick recov­ery and pray that future gen­er­a­tions are spared from the ever-present ter­ror that plagues our roads on a daily basis.

Those in the know will undoubt­edly be won­der­ing if Scan­dal­gate are still going ahead with the show at the Rox­bury Hotel (Sat­ur­day, 26 May). The short answer is yes. Stephen and Anthony will be run­ning a two-man show — minus lead gui­tars — and promise to deliver a strong, albeit reduced per­for­mance and we wel­come all those in doubt to go and suck a fat one.

We will be ded­i­cat­ing the show to Thomas in sol­i­dar­ity with his con­di­tion and we will be tak­ing dona­tions (cash only) for the Beau­mont Recov­ery Project.
